There are really no advantages to owning a manual any longer.
Cheaper? I don't know, maybe a little?
More reliable? Probably not anymore.
Better mpg? I doubt it.
Fun to drive might be the only real advantage, and that's subjective.

WAY more reliable. WAY better responsiveness. Better for control. WAY more enjoyable.
Hydraulically assisted steering is light years better than modern, electric, ones that come with lane assist.
