I agree with the overall tone of this thread and hated the amount of criticism Finley took on here, but this seems premature. Him possibly starting on Saturday doesn't necessarily mean that Ponchy and the others were wrong.

Did you even read the OP?
I said all of that and even bolded it

Well Ponchy seemed to have been wrong on every quantifiable metric he espoused against Finley. He said he would not sign with a top tier college program. Wrong! He said he would never start at a top tier program. Wrong! He said Finley was lazy. Wrong! Lazy doesn't lose 20+ lbs in just a few months. He said Finley was not a leader. That's to be determined but the signs indicate wrong again. At the minimum Finley has led by example through hard work, dedication to learning the playbook, outperforming a higher rated player and winning the starting job against evidently all odds. The coaching staff must believe he is a leader by the entrusting him to be the starting QB in a crucial game for the program.
I didn't believe Ponchy back then and I don't believe him now. List one thing negative he said about Finley that has proven to be correct as of this date. You and others seem to be waiting for Pounchy's negative statements about Finley to come true, while at the same time, overlooking the many that have been proven patently false. As if you are waiting for some of the mud thrown at the wall to stick
