You know, I’d have a lot more respect for posters on both sides to admit that they don’t give a shite about their “principles”, they just want their side to win.

As a lifelong political agnostic, it has been my observation that this attitude is far more prevalent for Democratic supporters rather than GOP. That’s not just here and on other internet sites, but IRL as well.

Also, I don’t recall ever having a political argument with a die-hard Republican wherein I disagreed with their position and they got so angry with me they cut off all contact, which has happened more than once with my Democrat (now former) friends. In fact I have refrained from discussing politics with most of my liberal/prog acquaintances, simply because I can’t count on them to have rational disagreements.
