I think it was a TD pass to Marshall. Don’t remember exactly. But it was close to the goal line and Brennan got hit as he threw. Came up lifting afterwards.

When asked, Orgeron said it was the hit along the sideline where he suffered the injury.

His upper body got snapped back violently on the hit. One of the Mizzou players was injured on the play and there was a break in the action. During that break, the cameras showed Brennan kind of walking by himself down the sideline without his helmet on. Two plays later he threw a TD in the process of being dragged down by a defender. I sure him having to extend arm to make that throw was very painful, but he was hurt on the hit.

It was an incredibly stupid decision by him. He had already picked up the 1st down and had plenty of time/room just to step out of bounds. At the last second he decided he wanted to unnecessarily take on the defender and now he and LSU are paying the price. Even the commentators talked about how dumb of a decision it was.

This wasn't a situation where he was running in the middle of the field trying to fight for a 1st down. Or one where he was trying to get out of bounds and the defender caught him before he could. At the most important position on the field with two true Freshman backups, it was a dumb play. That's not hindsight being 20/20. It was dumb when it happened...even if he didn't get hurt.
