Grape creek wouldn’t let us eat at the restaurant unless I bought a membership

Isn’t it like a private membership club thing there?

Wineries are good as is the wine. Is it high end Napa wines? No. Mainly because most of the wineries are getting their grapes from the high planes near Lubbock. The constant fluctuation in Texas weather stresses the grape for a unique taste.

I enjoy wines from the following:
Grape Creek
Signor
Ab Astris
Hilmy

Signor has a very pretty property. Ab Astris is tucked further back and a lawn chair in the yard type place that’s serene. Grape Creek has a nice courtyard and at times will have someone playing live music. Hilmy is smaller and relaxed. Very good Tempranillo there.

Food options we enjoy:
Vaudeville
Hondo’s for the live music
I believe it’s Becker that has this great lavender honey for cheese.

There’s several breweries as well as distilleries now. It’s a fun trip touring the wineries and the walking around town. Enjoy.

It's not a private membership. All the wineries have wine clubs you can join. Grape Creek and their restaurant are very popular. Because of social distancing, etc. during the pandemic it's only been open to wine club members. Grape Creek's wine club has a lot of members. It is a pretty gorgeous property and they stay pretty busy.

Look at William Chris. It's a little down the road from Fredericksburg in Hye, but their property is beautiful and their wine is very good.
