I think this is senile old Joe just not using words correctly. Point he's trying to make is that kids ARENT choosing, because it's not easier. Kids wouldn't just wake up and choose the difficult transgender life. That they are born that way and we shouldn't discriminate against them or think we can change them. How parents react to this inability to change is up for debate.

I agree that hormone treatment for undeveloped children is insane.
