So here's the thing. Wife and I have never snow skied and not averted to it, but I think I'm going to lose interest in it pretty quick. Is there enough to occupy our time at a ski resort outside of skiing?

Northstar Lake Tahoe. Awesome place to stay. About 20 minutes from Truckee, CA. Tons of cool restaurants and shops. Northstar has ice skating and tubing etc. However, skiing is awesome, not something you get “bored” of. My wife (Louisiana native) went for first time last year and is addicted. Is still talking about it.

Jackson Wyoming

Your kids can ski their little hearts out and get embarrassed by Norwegians, meanwhile you can eat some actual decent meals you pay out the absolute arse for. Maybe even go on a little sledding expedition you see a bunch of elk on and think you’re having fun.

My first ski trip was literally life-changing. Went skiing for the first time in Quebec. Skiing wasn't even the primary reason for the trip. My wife and I were visiting a friend in Montreal in late December. I wanted to try skiing since there were some small ski areas close by. The weather was -25C (-13F) in the morning. The wife was miserable. I had the time of my life. 2 years later, I ended up moving to Idaho because I didn't want to be too far from a ski area. I had never lived outside of the South until moving to Idaho. Don't think I'll ever move back.
