On the bay,


I was lucky enough to have an uncle that lived on the savannah River.


He bought a place on fripp island and it was the greatest outdoor years of my life.


We would drag a seine in the tidal pools and catch huge crab. We even fried mullet and loved it.

But the Frogmore was the highlight. I actually think of him every time I cook it.

That all sounds fantastic, until the part about frying mullet!

I love it here on the Gulf, but the Lowcountry has a magic about it I don’t feel here. Maybe it’s nostalgia, but man, what a place for a kid to grow up.
