The fact that O worked out still doesn't mean it was the right call at the time. I'm ecstatic it worked out but from a management standpoint it was way too risky to hire a position coach to take the helm of a top 10 program.
It's akin to hitting in blackjack when you have 19, then you land a 2. It worked out but wasn't necessarily the right call.

What if the person hitting on 2 knew how many twos were left in the deck compared to other cards? Bc that what this is like. A fan on the outside can say “muh resume” bc that is all the info they they have. Meanwhile the people who make the hiring decisions have many many times more info about the Inner workings and what is and was really going on. Ie they know how many twos are in the deck.
