Latoya really pisses me off. I’ve never experienced such hatred for a politician and we’ve had some awful ones in NOLA. She is purposefully torpedoing the local economy and people’s livelihoods over federal money.

I hope the saints do play in Lafayette and tell her to kiss her arse.

It seems like the inconvenience of playing in Laffy would not be popular with the players and coaching staff, but I wonder if the ticket revenue from 17,500 fans would offset that concern from the front office and ownership?

Much of any revenue would be eaten up by the team spending money to move and stage a game in Laffy.

the Saints obviously played TERRIBLY in their Tiger Stadium games of 2005. Think it would be more used to leverage the awful mayor of NOLA than to actually think about playing in Laffy.

On the bright side, at least we'd finally get solid painted endzones if the lazy and awful Doug Thornton is out of the picture.

yeah... esp. considering this line from the linked story

quote:

During initial discussions with the mayor and governor, the goal was to have positive cases below 5 percent of the New Orleans population. The city is currently at 1.5 percent. While there are concerns about people from other parishes attending games, the state as a whole is under 4 percent positivity.

Division opponents in Florida (11 percent), North Carolina (8 percent) and Georgia (6 percent) have higher positivity rates and are hosting fans.

The Superdome employs hundreds of people on game days who are currently out of work.

the "leaders" definitely screwed the fans and team over in this 1

I'm fairly certain we fit that criteria probably prior to the TB game as well

I would rather an empty Dome than Cajun Field. It's not going to happen.

Cajun Field uses the exact same turf from the same company as the Superdome. And stadium capacity is 40,000+ but I dunno how many they’d limit it to with covid restrictions. I think a Saints game at Cajun Field would be awesome and provide a great home field advantage for the saints, it can get pretty loud in Cajun Field even with only 20,000 Cajun fans, I can’t imagine what die hard saints fans could produce noise wise! It’s a below ground field with the stadium rising around it, so it holds noise pretty well. Would be fun.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it if Destroya keeps up her bullshite. Feel it might be just a tactic though.

Do you think the Saints organization even wants to come here? Do they really care about fans and a little ticket revenue?

That’s a good point, this may just be a strategy to get her off her arse and act like a real leader.

However, I do kinda think the organization cares somewhat about having fan noise because they know it affects their opponents.

it's all politics at this point... so I too am glad Lafayette's helping bully Toya and force her hand

also... I've been on the field at a packed Cajun Field on a nationally televised game (Okie St)... it's a fun little atmosphere

Rules dictate you must use your home stadium if it’s available. You cannot move just to have fans. The only WAY you can move buildings is if government denies you access

This story isn’t even a blip on Latoya’s radar.

She enjoys pissing off white conservatives.

I don’t know how I can point to silver linings other than just not visiting New Orleans at all.
