I've been wanting to pull the trigger on one of the livescope versions (whichever works best for my money). It's that much better? The youtube videos look like it's so easy, but if I turn off the sound of the describing what I'm looking at, it turns a little harder.

I need livescope and spotlock in my life but that's a good chunk of change.

Yes. It is absolutely a game changer. You don't just use it for the actual catch. I find it more useful than side imaging for finding new structure.

Getting spotlock soon, but then that brings in a transducer mounting issue I really don't want to have to deal with.
