Lee did the best he could in the scheme we ran. Lee wasn’t the issue.
Les refused to recognize the way to beat a team with a good defensive line is to make the defense cover every eligible receiver and give the quarterback quick options when he is under pressure. He wanted to go max protect and have 2 receivers go downfield. Doesn’t work

You’re right and the new scheme drove that theory home last season. The sad part about Lee’s career is, even though his numbers improved, Miles ability to wear down a QB showed so obviously with him in particular. Look at the tape from his freshman year compared to his Sr. year, he went from a confident player in the pocket to seeing ghost and jumpy as hell. The combination of limited opportunity and unrealistic demand for mistake free play turned Miles QBs into nervous wrecks.
