Should 10 years old be allowed to drive? Should 6 year olds decide they want sex change operations?
Let's leave aside children's rights, as it's a red herring.

Should people be able to drive 100 mph?
On private highways? Sure. On public roads? Depends on the road.

Should people be allowed to drive with blood alcohol levels of 1.5 as long as they follow traffic rules?
I would say no.

Should people have to follow traffic rules?...... aren’t those all restrictions on personal freedom?
Yes and no.

Start legalizing everything and you become closer to a third world country.
Drugs are often most illegal in the most authoritarian, shitty, 3rd world countries. I think you have it backward.

Marijuana is legal in Guatemala (which in parts is terribly 3rd world). Cocaine is produced there in large amounts, the government knows this and does nothing about it. Even though cocaine is illegal.

As of most of Africa, marijuana is illegal, but most of the time it's not enforced, especially if the farmers give the government a share. Many farmers in some of the countries prefer to grow marijuana because it makes more money than food.
