Tate Martell announces he’s opting out of season

I know I’m a couple days late on this, but Tate Martell has opted out of the 2020 season with Miami. Tate was an unreal high school player who never lost a game. Although he couldn’t win the starting job at Ohio State and Miami, I think he would shine in our program, and it wouldn’t hurt to go after him. He’s much more athletic than any qb we currently have on our roster and I’d love to see him finally get the opportunity to prove what he can do

Could be he is using this year to get closer to graduation. Since he can't win a starting job. He might understand he needs to graduate and this gives him an extra year of free school.

Thank God you're not LSU's HC Mr. Martell. Face it, your son has been in college for 3 years and he is still not good enough to EARN the staring QB position at P5 school such as tOSU or Miami. He quit on his teams, pouted, then took his ball and went home. Perhaps he would be better suited playing in C-USA or the American Athletic Conference.
