It’s ridiculous what Suddenlink is doing in Lake Charles. They openly lied by saying they restored service to 75% of customers and only admitted that the real number was 11% after public officials called them out. They are impossible to contact and it appears that they are doing everything they can to avoid making a greater effort to reconstruct the fiber optic network in the city. This is yet another example why a municipality getting into monopolistic contracts with private IP and cable businesses is a bad idea.

Pretty much anyone that has the option to switch to ATT is making that move right now around here. Many people are fed up with Suddenlink (or have been for years) and this is the last straw for them.

Want to connect an HD antenna (or maybe a neighbors working cable) for the house. Is it possible to remove the main connection to the house and connect there?

You can but I wouldn't. The more line and TVs connected to your main cable line, the weaker the signal will be to the TV.

If you can, I would set up an antenna just for your main TV and possibly one other. Make sure it is amplified though, it makes a big difference.

If you think you will be leaving the antenna connected for a decent length of time, try to run your antenna up to your attic and buy a HD Homerun tuner. That will let you stream your signal to any smart device. The duo lets your watch 2 different channels at once, the quatro for 4.
