It is radical but I think you’ll see a major push for it in this case. The passion for this seat with her will be white hot. The left is still pissed about Garland. This isn’t rubbing salt in the wound. This is cutting of the limb that has the wound and burning it as incense while screwing their dog on the grave of their grandmother. For Democrats, I think they will view this as crossing the Rubicon.

I know a lot will disagree and say they would do all of this anyway but expanding the court was a fringe idea. I fully expect it will crystallize it as mainstream. If that happens, what do you have? Universal Healthcare? Green New Deal? Required Universal Mail In Voting? The point is I think Dems will see this as their permission to get everything they want. It will be overreaching sure and they’ll pay a price politically, but there will be long lasting structural changes they bring about. Democrats rue the day Harry Reid changes the filibuster for judges because of the downstream effects. Will Republicans feel the same about rushing a replacement through?
