And Maggio was classy enough to write an open letter to LSU athletics, students, alumni, and anyone who'd read it on how classy they were treated last year when they played us.

Class.

actually met him once and he seems like a genuine good guy. Not your typical egg head academic

He got a Doctorate in Education from Grambling, not sure if the term “academic” applies here. Actually surprised he got the job, several of the previous NSU presidents had pretty impressive academic credentials.

NSU is 1 of the best kept "secrets" in the state. Everyone who goes there, stays there during their 4 years, enjoys the hell out of it, remains loyal, but never brags. It's an interesting mixture.

Enjoyed my time at NSU. I didn't stay on campus and ended up commuting and working through half of my degree but I enjoyed the school, the faculty, and the education I received.

I spent two years there before transferring to Tech.

It says something when Ruston makes a town seem small and boring.

Although I will say, that town during the snow of 2010 was one of the most beautiful things I ever saw.

Northwestern State University has reported a record enrollment this fall of 11,447, an increase of 547 students, or 5 percent, over last year’s total of 10,900.

Well when you accept pretty much any applicant.

Quite the opposite, they’ve actually raised the entrance requirements.

Dr Maggio is amazing. A true southern gentleman. He has been everything from the track coach to the Admissions Director to the President.

He is the absolute perfect fit to run NSU. I don’t care if he got his Doctorate from Grambling or University of Phoenix or wherever. He is amazing and inspires everyone within the Demon community to strive for new heights.

It’s nice to see so much good comments for him and Natty here on this board.

NSU is not for everyone but it is a great place to go to college. I enjoyed my time there immensely.
