Can we finally bury this one?

Okay besides Herbstreit's douchebaggery (that's my new favorite word), I can't think of much else. I know Kiper tried to downplay the significance of our win against Va Tech toward the end of the season. And I personally feel that there was a concerted effort to downplay the BCS Championship, but I feel that that was purely playoff driven and not anti-LSU.

It was bad back in 2003, I mean it was real obvious. But I think that we are over that now.

What say you? (I've always wanted to say that.)

o they definitely downplayed it. all they were saying was "should there be a split champion?"

I don't think that was hate for LSU. That was people's opinion that it was silly for the #1 team in both human polls to lose that spot in one of them because of computers.

To the contrary, LSU gets props from Herbsreit last September pre-Michigan game vs. Appalachian.

He was anti-Appalachian, before having to eat his cupcake at the end of the day.

Hope ESPN does GAMEDAY in the Bayou on 8-30, can't wait to hear what he has to say. It's great ESPN committed to LSU, albeit asking them to move kickoff up to 4pm

ESPN likes ratings.
ESPN talks and writes about teams with large fan base viewers, listeners and readers.
ESPN is ratings and profit motivated, not fan base motivated.

Fan-base motivated college geeks do in fact hate other fan-base motivated college geek institutions. I think it is a hormonal problem that most of them out-grow in adulthood.

There's a difference between hate and this

The media love you get is directly proportional to what you deserve. Why should ESPN go out of its way for LSU compared to USC, Ohio St., Oklahoma, Texas, or Florida?

Isn't getting all the love from the Dogfather enough?
