I hate how they are saying that she was an EMT and Gaige Grosskreutz was a paramedic. Just a quick search will show that both of them were not currently registered as an EMT or Paramedic anymore. The fact is that the media is trying to garner sympathy for people doing criminal acts or associating with criminals.

100% true, but they are also very effectively redirecting people to argue about mostly irrelevant character flaws as opposed to discussing the actual relevant facts of the individual situations.
