People playing this down are missing all the other forms of revenue that may take a hit. The only way the players keep getting massive contracts is via tv contracts. Fewer viewers in the short term not that big a deal, over the long term, it can be deadly.

I think its a little premature to say other streams of revenue will drop significantly based on a 2 million fewer fans the first week of a boycott.

It will be more interesting to see if the ratings start to gradually rise once the novelty of the boycott wears off.
