The Left has embraced the Idealist idea of Transnational Progressivism. It is a logical and practical cultural progression for the whole World to ultimately be united under common Principles and Beliefs, and the efficient actions therein.
That said, it won't happen with the current Population/POV. Too many psychoses and egoism, and foundational Spiritual division.
If there is no God, no afterlife determined by one's beliefs and actions in this life, then 'efficiency' will rule, sooner or later. Problematic individuals would simply be eliminated; as there would be no moral basis to bear societal harm or postpone the inevitable and eternal death of people who are a curse to themselves as well as others.
Two Books might assuage one's cynicism (Good Book nws): "The Fourth Turning", documents the cyclical nature of political/cultural dynamics. It's easy to see why and where we are in the 'Cycle'. Crash and reset.
And "The Celestine Prophecy"; I've heard that Millenials have embraced that one. The ideas of both 'what' and 'where' Humanity is headed, is interesting, if not logically prophetic. Some of the 'spirit'/metaphysical stuff is iffy. Whatever. The core is solid.
Big changes are always accompanied by tumultuous societal upheaval. Big changes are coming. Second Coming (of Truth), IMO.
