Yes, their families have heard the tapes of everything that happened. They told their families on the phone calls that they were planning to fight back. So I believe it, because I’m not going to question their families.
I think what they did is a totally plausible story. Due to Flight 93 being delayed, they were able to find out the fates of the other hijacked flights. Their phone calls with their families confirm this. This left them with the choices of either doing nothing and dying or fighting back and maybe having some chance of surviving. They knew their options and knew that fighting back was the only choice because they were going to die if they did nothing. Also, the recordings capture when Ziad Jarrah (hijacker pilot) asks the other hijacker in the cockpit whether he should crash the plane and the other one eventually tells him to “put it down.”

Absolutely. I believe that group of passengers thought they could overpower the hijackers and perhaps get back to ground. The hijackers thought so as well and decided to cut the heroic passengers off at the pass, instead choosing to kill everyone involved including themselves rather than be overtaken. Very plausible.

Some of the phone calls were from cell phones when the planes were more than 20,000 feet higher than cell phones could reach. Sounds more like set up propaganda than something that actually happened in the air.
