The other point to note, the lefts platform is built around feelings of inferiority, and envy.

Taxing the rich (they have too much) is envy, for example.

So you’d expect the people who feel inferior, who feel envy, to be Democrats. Attractive people are more successful, on average, and would be less likely to feel inferior, and less likely to find these messages appealing.

The upper middle class Democrats presumably find the platform appealing, because it makes them feel virtuous, even if they themselves live comfortable lives.

This goes into the the rabbit hole, but it also probably makes them feel better than other people. It reinforces their feeling of being part of a higher class.
