re: Camper owners: is owning a camper worth it?

We have family with a camper, they use it a lot but we have visited them at some of the camp sites and it is like a redneck motel 6. I couldn't imagine wanting to stay there. We stay in it when we visit, they do live a rocks throw from the beach in Mississippi. I will be taking advantage of this with the flounder migration in about a month. I would not want to own one, it is OK for a night or two, but other than that I would rather a hotel/camp to stay at. Now if you are talking about one of these $100K plus monstrosities, those might be more livable, but they no longer remain a camper at that point.
