Which is why most the residents left after the war... oh that’s right, they didn’t. They stayed and worked for the same plantation owner they had before the war. Revisionist history is killing this country.

Is slavery wrong? Yes. Were slaves whipped and beaten while trying to flee every plantation similar to how people are trying to flee communist countries... no

I am pretty sure slaves were in fact whipped when they tried to flee plantations.

You want to talk about revisionist history then the idea that poor, uneducated, newly freed slaves didn’t flee the plantations means slavery wasn’t that bad is a good place to start.
