quote:Yep. And not only that but she is politically "alt right". Watch the aftershow.
So it sounds like Stormfront is the old supe Liberty.
quote:That was...horrifying. Joffrey all growed up.
Watching Homelander lose his shite is so, so entertaining.
edit: Misquoted as far right. Corrected to alt right.

Just finished episode 4 - thoughts and spoilers below
- Noir cracks me up.
- Homelander is a got damn psychopath those talk show answers were amazing. He’s Patrick Bateman meets Superman.
- They nailed the emotions of Butcher’s wife refusing to leave with him. Couple of damn good actors and solid writing there.
- Apparently Stormfront is old and has been hating minorities for quite some time. That and her pseudo seduction of Homelander were interesting wrinkles this week.
Really good episode.

Pretty decent episode. I thought the road trip aspect lasted a little too long, but the Butcher/wife interactions made up for it. I honestly thought homelander was going to ask doppelgänger to switch to a stormfront appearance and screw/kill it in a weird devious way. these candy bar manufacturers should be pissed at the badmouthing of their product. Are they out of ideas for Deep?

Are you in Europe or something? New episodes drop Fridays.
I think Amazon just drops it worldwide whenever it's Friday in whatever their first market is, assuming Europe maybe, but anything listed as a Friday release almost always is available on Thursday evening. I noticed this when The Grand Tour was releasing new episodes and I'd always watch them Thursday night.

Yeah pretty sure Stormfront is the first supe Vought created that Stan Edgar was alluding to when confronted by Homelander and how the company came to be, etc.

Soldier Boy (Captain America) is older, probably the first successful one.

I don't think so. They're obviously trying to "change" his image so he can get back into the Seven. But this church is definitely wanting to weaponize him for their agenda. What that agenda is at this point is a good question.
The Fresca thing cracks me up. I'm totally convinced its involved in some kind of behavior modification.

Homelander might be my favorite character ever. His diatribes are the best part of this show. Can’t wait to watch episode 4.

Like someone said earlier, scenes with him are intense because you really never know what he's going to do.
Like when his eyes lit up with Stormfront, I wouldn't have put it past him to go after her.

And I’m not sure if there’s anything anyone can do to stop him. Is it a god complex if you’re actually a god?

My theory on that is I'm convinced Vought has some kind of antidote or "killswitch" to the supes in case they get out of hand. I can't imagine them weaponizing all of these people, through years of research, and not having a way to counter it if they go rogue.

They do. They make new failsafes with each batch.

Well that makes all the sense in the world.

Let me put it this way.
Let’s say Homelander decides he does want to get rid of every other Supe on the planet. Let’s conservatively say that between all the lower level teams and individuals and the retirees we’re at 250.
To even remotely make that feasible he would have to each Supe out one by one and we would have to space them out a few weeks apart not to raise any immediate suspicion and he would have to start with the old and/or weak supes first. So let’s say he wipes out around 30-40 in the first 2 years or so of his plan. The first few likely wouldn’t raise too many eyebrows, but once a pattern is established, it wouldn’t take long for people to realize that it has to be someone very powerful committing the murders. It’s not long before someone at Vought talks - their Supes are all chipped so they can be tracked. Once it’s out that it’s Homelander, then the open season on him begins.
So who exactly can beat him? From what we’ve seen, no one can match him in terms of raw physical strength so that’s out of the question. Can he drown? I’m doubting that. What effects would Starlight/Stormfront’s powers have on him if any? If they can weaken him, that definitely helps. But who can really do damage?
The speedsters. If you get the top 5, maybe the top 10 speedsters all attacking him at once, they can overwhelm, weaken, and ultimately kill him.
So the checks and balances are in place already. He keeps everyone else in line and everyone else in line keeps him in line.

If they go by the comics then you're in for a treat. I just hate the one episode per week crap.

Cant wait til Black Noir gets more development...will leave it there

Absolutely the Vaught kill switch or whatever makes sense. I wasn’t being sarcastic. Whether it’s an embedded remote operated cyanide tablet or explosive or whatever, there has to be some way to control the supes esp Homelander.
As far as speedsters, it Homelander is equivalent to Superman then not even the speedsters can handle him.

I already know what the big thing is. I’m just wondering if they do the “smaller” shoot off from that plot element.
But even if they don’t do that huge thing, my point from my previous post is still valid.

He’s fast, but he’s not in that ballpark. If A-Train and Shockwave are Tyreke Hill/Henry Ruggs, he’s more like say Gronk. Fast for his size/power, but not the fastest in his game.
