Yep. People forget that, even though it wasn't anywhere near as good as its two predecessors, it was still one of the most critically acclaimed films of 1990. Sofia Coppola was the biggest complaint about the film at the time of its release - and rightfully so. But it still managed to snag 7 Academy Award nominations (including nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor - Andy Garcia). For comparison, Goodfellas (which was released in the same year) got 6 Academy Award nominations.

The Oscars also gave the nod to Shakespeare in Love over Saving Private Ryan...So...
