The middle was the worst part.
They sent a fricking attack helicopter to ambush a mafia meeting; I mean, come on. That shite belongs in Olympus Has Fallen, not a Godfather movie.
Personal opinion: The incest storyline should have been Vincent/Connie, not Vincent/Mary. The parallel should have been Connie vs Fredo not Vincent vs Young Michael/Young Sonny.

The first cousin thing is sickening to watch

I wonder if people saw Godfather III without seeing the previous two and therefore thought it was a good movie?
GF III is a good movie, the problem is that the first two are masterpieces.

I didn't like how Michael was portrayed. I know he was old and ill, but they had him chasing after his ex wife and trying to romance her. In my mind, she ends up dead soon after part 2. He finds another hot, younger bride from the old country and has another few kids. No way he could forgive her for killing his child.
The Fredo break down stuff rang true and I liked him struggling with that guilt. Maybe remorse for some other stuff too. But I didn't like him having to grovel to his ex or his kids..

If GF III occurred in 1969-70 as opposed to 1979-80, I could see your point.
