I don't agree with the months prediction. That may happen if one side contests the results, but it won't take that long to count ballots. A week or two for counting ballots maybe.

You will have to scrub every vote and compare it to in person voting roles then you will have to determine which ballot counts the mail in or the in-person. Which has priority?
How do you clear A voting machine vote? You can’t.

Both sides are going to fight this out big time due to the fact that what is at stake. Next Prez will pick one and maybe two Chief Justice for the supreme court. This will guide the Supreme court for the next 15+ years. It's going to be a very nasty election.
