Range Technology offers a plug In for this. It doesn’t delete anything just blocks the afm from switching from v8 to v4. I have one in my 2018 GMC and it works great. You can actually unplug it while driving or plug it back in while driving . They run around $200 I believe.

This is what I have in my 2010 and it works nicely. But as stated I believe this issue has been corrected in the newer models.
