Screw this. The owners need to find their balls and threaten to invoke the force majuere clause of the CBA to end it. The agreement to play this bubble season/playoffs included a 60 day extension for the league to do so; which is early SEPTEMBER.

Or call a violation of rule XXX, section 1:
quote:

Section 1. No Strike.

During the term of this Agreement, neither the Players Association nor its members shall engage in any strikes, cessations or stoppages of work, or any other similar interference with the operations of the NBA or any of its Teams. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in this Section 1 shall impair the rights accorded the Players Association by Article XXXIX, Section 3 (Termination by Players Association/Anti-Collusion) or Section 6 (Mutual Right of Termination).

Pretty clear violation there.

Once again, you’re crazy if you think the owners or Silver attempt any punitive measures. Would be absolute suicide for their franchise.

Zero chance they do that.

Boom is right that all this does is postpone things. But, they were already pushing it starting this late and having play-ins and full playoffs. It's why I thought they should just take top four in each conference and immediately start playoffs, though I figured the delays would be COVID-related.

Given the current social climate...you really think they will enforce that? Not a chance.
