Why Herschel Walker decided to speak at the RNC

"I don't think people really know Donald Trump. I think they look at Donald Trump from a tweet or look at from what he says, and they're not looking at what he does,"
"Donald Trump has done more in three years than almost most presidents have done in eight, and what's so special about him is he cares about people and that's what I wanted people to do."
"I've had a personal friendship with Donald Trump for 37 years, and during all this time he has never, never, never asked Herschel Walker to speak for him, and after they've called him all types of names, and I know Donald Trump," Walker said. "I've been with him in very, very special moments and I've never seen that in him and that's why I wanted to speak for him."
"What this president has done for America needs to be known, and I think it's not being known. People do not want to mention even the things he's done in three years ... normally when you run for a political party, you don't know what you say. This president here has done almost everything he said that he was going to do and that counts."
"We have a Democratic Party, today, not telling anyone where they stand on anything," he said. "That is the honest truth, but they want you to go to a voting booth and make an emotional decision."
"I was raised Democrat, and I didn't know any better, and what's strange is I'm not saying the Democrat Party is bad, I'm saying it doesn't fit what I believe," he said.
"First of all, I believe in God, I believe in family, I believe in the American flag, I believe in the national anthem. I believe in law and order. While the Democrat Party has not said that they believe in any of those things. That's what made America beautiful."
"It seems like we have a political civil war right now where people are afraid to speak their mind and that's sad."

We heard his speak. When he was done I told my wife how impressed I was by him. I heard my wife's voice crack when she agreed. She had tears in her eyes.
I have enjoyed Mr. Walker from his days with UGa, and even more so these days.

Herschel's son is MAGA AF as well. They are fighting the good fight!

I have spent time with Herschel. He does 1500 pushups a day. Eats rarely, and when he does it’s not much. He is diagnosed with DID, a very serious psychological condition, but you would never know it. He is recovering from anger management. He was raised dirt poor. I tell you this to give more layers to this extraordinary human being. His success story is truly compelling. He met DJT through USFL. They have been friends ever since.

Herschel Walker is a national treasure.

I think that his speech was one of the most effective ones last night.
Great job, Herschel!

Wonder what he feels about Trump killing the USFL because he wanted an NFL franchise and they told him to GFY? Destroyed a great league because he was only interested in himself. Shocker.

This kinda cracked me up.
So, you hung around Herchel Walker and counted pushups and watched him eat?

You learn things about folks when you listen to them. You should try it. ;))

Look at this man. Do any of y’all think he would be a liberal pussy looking for handouts and playing muh race card? GET OUTTA HERE
The democratic emasculization of black men is pathetic and sad. They’re built to be physically and mentally strong and most of them are crying on Facebook about how a white person told them they were well spoken one time 17 years ago. Need more Herschel’s in today’s society

I had an army buddy who was a walk on player during Hershel's last year at UGA. Hershel would walk into the team room and say, "Let's go check the mail, guys." Then the crew would go follow him down to the UGA post office and there would be a mountain of bags, boxes, etc.
They would drag that stuff back to either the football facility or the dorm and Hershel would open everything and say, "Adidas sweatpants, size XL, who wants 'em?" or whatever and distribute the haul that way.
That apparently happened most days. By that time, Hershel had already clothed most of his family and friends, so he had moved on to the younger guys on the team.
Great guy by all accounts, even dealing with the issues he had.

In the face of their being friends for almost forty years, this was a poorly thought out and executed post.
