I have moved completely away from coils for coyotes when possible. I have some bridger offsets, music wire spring, night latched, baseplate, lams, etc. Basically everything that can be done to them. Unless it is a long line I use nothing but longsprings now.
Old vic longsprings with stepdown pit pans, stainless round dog with about 4 pounds of tension. They bed rock solid and if I show up and they are popped, there is an animal in it. I'm not sure I'll ever go back.

I like your style, most of my trapline is purple clay its a MF to bed longsprings.
I like a little eye appeal and pro's choice #3 for cats and coyotes
