Well, not really but we have recently started taking taekwondo as a family. Mostly for the kid (self discipline and confidence) but we are enjoying it so far.

I wrestled in High School and considering where I ended up going to school was one of the smartest things I ever did. It teaches you about balance and leverage and those things never really leave you. Even 30+ years later, the muscle memory is still there for certain moves/techniques.

But on the flip side, the most important "martial art" you can learn is verbal judo. If you are smart and prepared you can deescalate most encounters.

You guys are a pain in the arse on the jiu jitsu/judo mats. And yes I mean that as a big compliment lol. Wrestlers mentality is a very real thing. Our sparing is more “fun” and laid back, where the wrestlers are trying to freaking kill each other. But of course the OT will lay dem hands on any big wrestlers ya hurd.
