I hadn’t heard his name in any of the opt out talk either. I think this may have been a team rules situation. That being said, everyone needs to calm down about on the melt. Ed has done a wonderful job of bringing some dudes in. We’ve got a few guys on the defense that are just built different. They need to get their snaps early in the season anyway. Relax, we are fine.

Dang these bama boys just aint reliable! Did Nick tell them they had a charger waiting for them if they left LSU? i have my doubts Farrell returns again.

We will be fine. It’s a good thing we have 3 easy games first to get our young guys some snaps. Somebody will emerge as the leaders. I think Ojulari will be one of the starters probably with Gaye. I don’t think Farrell comes back mainly because I see Roy having his old spot locked down with Masson Smith right behind so he would be a rotation guy at best.

Defense continues to take hits

Yeah. I felt much better about the team with Farrell, Vincent, Thomas, and especially Marcel Brooks.
That's definitely going to hurt us..
In a normal year I'd probably be more upset about this, but I almost feel like I'll be happy if we just get to watch some football this go around.

there is a difference between 3-4 DE and 4-3 DE. Based upon their recruiting, I think there may be others that may fit the scheme better than Justin. We still have 9 DE and 8 DT. that is one more than my target for DE.
Heck we are going to be really overstocked at DE next year if all 4 WDE commits hold for next year.
LSU is 4 deep across the DL, but are not 3 deep in the Def Backfield even though LSU often plays 5 or even 6 DB at a time.
