Yep. Antifa was Stalin's Communist street militia in the 1930's. They spent as much time fighting liberal social democrats as they did Nazis because Stalin saw democracy as an equal or greater threat.

Not really. They are much more like the fascists of the early 20th century. To be more precise, they are like the anarchists.
