Would these people be making the same argument if they finished out the regular season on an 8-0 run and still missed the playoffs? Because isn't that really all they did?

it's completely fair. no argument otherwise. i like your analogy.
however, it's still hilarious that they went 8-0 in the bubble (that was designed for teams with a chance to make it) and still didnt get in.
