Right, but it's a quick sanity check.

One leg of the right triangle is 40 (the distance from the low point of the cable to the top of the pole.)

The hypotenuse of the right triangle can not be longer than 40 (half the cable length).

There's only one solution - vertical side is 40, hypotenuse is 40, other leg of the 'triangle' is 0.
