After the first debate, when Trump goes after his cognitive abilities, the drum will beat very loud for him to step aside. I just don't see him be able to debate Trump for 90 mins without media protection and a script.

Well if it is done with zoom (everyone in a different location due to COVID) then Bidens staff will most assuredly get the questions beforehand. That will allow them to craft a perfect response and eliminate the "Joe Factor". They might even give him an ear wig...
That would be the only way the Biden could possibly NOT look like an imbecile.
