Watched a documentary on the band Death, the first “death metal” band... out of Florida in the 1980s through the late 90s... got their last record, “The Sound of Perseverance.” Came out in 1998. So far ahead of its time. Realized Mastodon pays homage to them by Easter egging some Death riffs into a song of theirs on their Blood Mountain record.
