I almost wish this had gone unannounced; and tons of Lovecraft fans lost their minds over this when it came out.

Why are so many people surprised at what this is about? It's based off of a best selling novel.

Because of the name of the show? Usually, "Lovecraft" references are used to reference, HP Lovecraft. I know, that's a crazy thought, but bear with me. So a show called "lovecraft country" most would think it would have to deal with what most consider the Father of Horror. Then you see who the creator is, and you say, "hmmm, the racist director who goes out of his way not to hire white actors, ok. Well, regardless, i hope it still has Lovecraft themes, considering his other horror movies appear to have been good". Then you hear, "it's about wokeness moreso, than it is about Lovecraft". Well that's beyond disappointing. HOwever, considering the network and director, probably shouldn't be so surprising. And then, as you mentioned, "Well its from a book, how didn't you know that". Well, there are a lot of books out there, if you aren't aware, and we haven't read all of them. So it's not unfathomable that many, if any here have read that particular book.

But your wokeness is noted. So congrats!
