The tournament did start out advertising cash prizes. Someone reported it to the LGA and we were informed we could not “advertise” cash prizes or it affects amateur status of the participants. Most participants do not care about amateur status so they can sign a form opting out of any cash prize and receive a pro shop gift certificate.
So to answer your question, the tournament is no longer “advertising” a cash prize in order to protect the amateur status of a select few.
I would say don’t be turned off by the fact that the tournament is no longer “advertising” cash prizes. Hopefully that answers your question, here in a Public forum, about cash prizes.

Hoping they have a good turn out. Always a fun tournament. Won't be able to play in it this year unfortunately.

It was a big decision for us to change it from 3 days to 2 days. We are hoping the 2 day format is more attractive as it leaves the Monday holiday to do stuff with the family.
If you include a practice round, 3 days of golf in a row is enough for most of us. And knocking off a day helps keep the entry fee down, but the prizes are still based off the old 3 day format so it’s a win-win situation!

It's crazy how small of a world this site can be. If you work up there are in close association we've bound to have met several times. Was a member from 2016 until last month.
I think it'll bring in golfers that normally couldn't commit to a 3 day due to prior family plans. Sounds like a great idea to me and an all around win for everyone.

Let’s just say I’m very much involved in the tournaments at the club. I don’t work there but I’m one of the inaugural members. More than likely you’ve retrieved a few errant shots from my back yard over the years??

It is. BUT it is also opening weekend of Dove season. That's will hinder attendance some imo.

If you’ve got a yard that touches the course in any way.... I’ve donated a yard decoration I promise.
