quote:I just got 2 off Amazon, one a refurbished exactly like the original, the other a knock with double the wh/ah and both fit no problem.
Question is, can I use another part number with no issue as long as it's the same voltage/Wh?
Like you it's for the trimmer and blower.
Parents had problems with the battery casings melting ever since they got their 1st trimmer. Their place on the side of a hill in Hot Springs Village was rocks, weeds, and wildflowers, so it was start and stop, start and stop, start and stop, constantly. That is not what the design was about and caused the connectors to get really hot.
They went through Ryobi warranty and eventually were told after about the 5th battery to take their trimmer to certified repair for checkup. Ended up being 45 min. drive to Benton and was just a little old man with a shop behind his house who checked it out and declared trimmers were fine, just the constant start/stop was the problem.
