I realize that JJ is much more informed than any of us, however, many on this forum follow politics very closely and read (and watch) what they can on all things politics. I doubt any of us had ever even heard a rumor about this or had ever heard Bash's name mentioned in regard to doing an investigation into the unmasking.
I think everyone just assumed that it was a minor subpart of the overall Durham investigation.
And, if JJ did know, he should be a shoo-in for a 2020 Laurence Olivier Award for the shock that he showed when he was told about Bash and the investigation.

There have been over a dozen attorneys identified working with / for John Durham. For 99% it is information overload. I knew about Bash, no secret. But don't expect the complicit MSM to inform you.
