I'd consider a donation to a local organization that may have helped them out -- and maybe a gift card for dinner? It'll alleviate stress of cooking at least one meal and will get them out of the house.

And prayers for them -- as a mom, I can't imagine my husband with a 15 yo. He'd figure it out but this isn't how it's supposed to happen.
