The hospitals are not making money during this time because elective surgeries are not being done.
They do have Covid patients that cost more to care for because of the extra precautions they are taking. Plus not being able to do the money making part of the hospital business is hurting them.

And pushing back these elective surgeries and discouraging people from going to doctors appointments and the like, is going to carry it’s own death toll and myriad of health problems in the future. Preventive care is huge in saving money as well as saving lives. But hey, one covid life right?
