However, the HBO max issue is a legit complaint
And pretty much every tv is smart these days, it’s not like you have make a choice to spend the extra $ to get a smart one

True. I always assume that most of the market that's using Roku devices are buying them because they have older TVs and it's a cheaper alternative than a new TV with internet apps.

Yup. I bought a Hiscense Roku TV for the guest room because they are dirt cheap. I ended up putting that one in the living room and moved the more expensive, fancier brand non Roku smart tv to the guest room.
