I don't guess I'd really completely discount anything at all in 2020 America, but at the same time I don't see why it wouldn't be possible that certain rather liberal cities and their liberal mayors have essentially put out the invite for the lowest common denominator amongst their respective populations to come out and have a free for all, as the cities' law enforcement establishments will be offering little to no resistance. Plus the favorable coverage by MSM basically lets each of the cities' hooligans know that city A is rioting, which in turn draws out the hooligans in city B, which in turn draws out the hooligans in city C, and so on.

All this really takes is the belief and/or knowledge that like minded thugs are gathering at point a, b and c, take your choice and get out there and break shite and hurt people. I just don't see how that takes much coordination.

Early on in the process, areas were being pre-seeded with things like water and milk to handle tear gas as well as pallets of bricks to throw at cops and buildings.

Some of that can be set up quickly. The deliveries of bricks? Not so much.
