Her other primary residences are Windsor Castle in Berkshire and Balmoral Castle in Scotland, which offer much more privacy to her and the Royal Family.

Yeah. If it were me I would just spend the rest of my days at Balmoral. That place is amazing. But apparently she doesn't like it because she "can't get the kind of work done there she can at Buckingham Palace."
She's been neutered.

She and Prince Phillip lived at Clarence House in London for the first year of her reign (Prince Phillip actually preferred it). It was Churchill who made them move into Buckingham Palace. The Queen Mother left BP and took their place at Clarence.

She spent most of her teen age years at Windsor Castle, they couldn't have her and the King in the same city when Hitler was bombing Britain.
