Not to you Aubie specifically A...but if Trump were to "legalize", I.e., promote - weed...the Evangelical Vote would stay home.

I grew 14 footers back when; drove up to my house one day and those stalks were sticking out of the trunk of a State Police car. I had quit by then, but before that...I was on the verge of 'taking a stand' against any government official that accosted me, for doing something that affected only my own body and mind. Came within an inch of going over a line that would have altered my life in a major way.

There are two ways of perceiving Reality...the Worldly (real) version...and the Subjective/Spiritual, malleable version. The very basis for ALL Civilization and Culture, is based on BOTH of these perceptional Bases. Drugs of different sorts can open individual's perception to the abstract (Subjective/Spiritual) version, as the World version is woefully apparent to all; struggle to live and proper...and die.

Our current Culture/Civilization is struggling to understand, synthesize and employ Knowledge of these two Perceptive Bases, in ways that enable "the pursuit of happiness". Happiness being of a Spiritual nature. "Man does not live by bread alone...". Very true. And the Kids know it, instinctively. They know whether their Parents are really happy or not; whether or not they have true love in their hearts. No Love...no happy.

There was a time when I believed that at a given age, every single young individual should employ a drug, food-fast, Religious/Spiritual Ceremony, or some technique to open their Perception to the Spiritual Perspective. (War or Natural calamity can affect Perception as well.) Most Civilizations followed this principle; and many survived far longer than our own relatively short - and likely short-lived - Worldly-based current Civilization model. The Native American Culture existed on this Continent for Millennia; maybe they saw no reason for 'progress'. Maybe their Vision/Feeling was exceptional; no way that abstract quantity can be recorded in a history book; or related/transmitted. If it ain't broke...don't fix it. Today...'Koyaanisqatsi'.

"To the pure, all things are pure". "There is a time, for all things". "Where there is no Vision...my people die". Wisdom. It is not "the letter of the law" that matters, in the greater and current Perceptive/Civilization/Vision scenario. It is the Spirit that will ultimately determine both the Worldly and Spiritual success or failure of our Civilization. If it is broke...fix it. Tall order. Might be a bridge too far, for a relatively dysfunctional people to reach. Whatever it takes...we'll get there.

Rant over.
